How do I know which product I should use?

Question:
How do I know which product I should use?

Answer:
You need to know what type of discs your drive, or recorder accepts. Again, the documentation with the unit should give you this information. If not, check with the manufacturer. Much like CD-R, DVD-R should be used if you are making a one-time recording that you want to keep. If you wish to be able to re-record the disc, then you need to use the type of rewriteable disc that your drive accepts. Keep in mind that if you intend to read or play this recording elsewhere, DVD-R offers the widest range of playback compatibility. DVD-RAM only works on DVD-RAM drives and recorders, while DVD-RW and DVD+RW have some compatibility with newer DVD players, but will likely not be playable on older decks.
