Fujifilm. Expand the World of Imaging

Stamford, C.T., October 13, 2014 FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. and The American Society of Radiologic Technologists Foundation have awarded Professional-Level Scholarships to students for the 2014-2015 academic year. Since 2011, more than $12,000 dollars have been awarded through Fujifilm’s contribution to radiologic science professionals completing a second certification or college degree.

“We extend our congratulations to all of the scholarship recipients,” said Rob Fabrizio, director of product marketing and development, Digital x-ray and Women’s Health at FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. “Fujifilm is pleased to support the scholarship program and ensure future radiology professionals have access to the resources they need to advance their career and contribute back to safe and effective care for patients for many years into the future.”

Fujifilm’s monetary donations began in 2011 after the passing of George Spahn, R.T. (R), former director of image quality at Fujifilm. The annual donation is made in memory of Mr. Spahn and embodies his vision of advancing radiologic technologists’ education.

“I am tremendously grateful to be receiving this scholarship. As a full-time graduate student, I have taken on a great deal of financial responsibility in order to achieve my goal of becoming a radiologist assistant,” said Quinnipiac University Graduate Student Kelsey Johnson 15 of North Haven, Connecticut. “This scholarship will be a great help in maintaining my academic status and commitment.”

Awards are available to eligible students who are an ASRT member, have applied to or currently attending an accredited degree or certificate program and have finished their degree or certificate program after Sept. 1 of the year in which scholarship applications are due.

Our scholarships would not be possible without support from companies such as Fujifilm, and individuals who care about helping radiologic technologists enhance their professional skills and education,” said Phelosha Collaros, Foundation Director at ASRT.
