VALHALLA, N.Y., October 31, 2012Color Ink, a full-service printer based in Sussex, Wisconsin, has expanded its large format capacity and capability with the purchase of a Uvistar Pro-8 printer from Fujifilm. The printer was on display at SGIA 2012, and was demonstrated for the first time in the U.S. at this show.

“Color Ink has a well-deserved reputation as an industry leader in new technologies. By adding the Uvistar Pro-8 to our large format line, we will be able to more efficiently produce high quality graphic displays, banners and posters for a wide range of point of purchase applications. We know our customers need quick turnaround and the new Uvistar Pro-8 gives us the ability to respond faster while meeting the demanding quality expectations of our customers,” said Todd Meissner, President, Color Ink.

The latest development in the highly successful series of Uvistar super-wide format printers, the Uvistar Pro-8 is a hybrid grand format press with Parallel Drop Size (PDS) technology that enables printing both 20 and 40 picoliter drops in the same pass resulting in higher print quality without compromising print speed. The new Uvistar has 8 switchable ink channels to allow the press to run a lightning fast 2 x 4 color mode or switch to an 8 channel mode in order to utilize light colors in order to improve tonal gradients, flesh tones and transitions to provide greater print detail and further enhance print quality. Other design upgrades include an auto loader handling system for rigid media; a fully automated backlit printing option and an intuitive new operator interface. The new Uvistar Pro-8 was developed in combination with Fujifilm’s brand new Uvijet QN inks, a single ink set for both outdoor and indoor applications on a wide range of media.

“The Uvistar Pro-8 is a great addition to our wide format capabilities, and will enable us to produce output we simply couldn’t produce on our current equipment. The speed of the Uvistar Pro-8 will also be a big plus in responding faster to meet our growing demand for work format work,” added Meissner.
