Grids are commonly used to improve diagnostic quality of images by reducing scattered radiation.
Lead strips in the grid are progressively angled in alignment with the mean focal distance and linearity of the primary x-ray beam. These lead strips absorb any radiation which does not travel in the same direction as the primary beam.
Fuji offers a selection of grids for common applications and cassette sizes. Information on selecting the proper grid and proper use of a grid is provided through Fuji Professional Services training. Basic information is covered in Professional Services set up training with the installation of a new reader.
