High-speed / High-quality UV roll printer ideal for POP, banners, and billboard printing.
The Uvistar2 printer adds many features designed to produce excellent quality prints for a wide variety of enduser applications.
Uvistar2 features revolutionary new Parallel Drop Size (PDS) technology, which enables the printing of both 20 and 40 picoliter drops in the same pass. The larger drops helps to achieve strong colors and fast production speeds, while the smaller drops achieve better print quality without the need to add separate channels for weak pigmented “light” colors.
The Uvistar2 printer includes both hardware and software modifications compared to the original Uvistar to produce higher quality prints.
The new Parallel Drop Size (PDS) technology is utilized in both 3 & 5-pass high-quality print modes. The amazing thing about PDS is that it improves the print quality without compromising print speeds or increasing ink consumption. PDS utilizes innovative (and patent pending) software algorithms to control the drop size to one set of heads, varied by print direction.
Hardware changes to Uvistar2 include a new linear encoder assembly to enable more accurate drop placement for fine text quality. We’ve also added improved real-time ink temperature controls to improve print quality at faster production speeds.
The Graphic User Interface (GUI) for Uvistar2 has been improved to add many additional features for the operator. Uvistar2 can print multiple rolls with different images with ease.
Uvistar2 is designed for quick and easy changeovers from one material to another. The material loading path makes it simple to load new material, yet produces excellent material tensioning for excellent print results. A very short 14” material leader reduces waste and saves money when switching rolls.
Uvistar2 has an optional set of flatbed tables that can used to print on rigid stocks of any length. This proves an excellent low-cost option for shops that don’t print enough rigid materials to justify a dedicated flatbed printer, yet want to keep occasional rigid printing in-house.
