The FinePix S8100fd features a red-eye removal function that automatically detects and corrects unsightly red-eye reflections that often spoil flash snapshots of people.

For fail-safe portraits or active zoom snapshots, a convenient Zoom Bracketing function automatically records the same image three times with zoom ratio settings of 1x, 1.4x and 2x at a single release of the shutter.

When function is activated, three frames are previewed in the viewfinder at 1x, 1.4x and 2x. In 10-megapixel mode, 1.4x frame is captured at 5M; 2x frame at 3M.
