Despite its high-power 18x zoom lens, the FinePix S8000fd is designed to be compact and easy to carry. An ergonomic grip and rubber finger pad make it easy to hold the camera steady and operate the controls with one hand, giving you the flexibility to point and shoot smoothly and effortlessly.

Smooth 60 fps Electronic Viewfinder

In addition to the 2.5-inch LCD, the FinePix S8000fd gives you the option of framing your shots through a bright, clear 230,000-pixel electronic viewfinder (EVF). With a refresh rate of 60 frames per second, images in the viewfinder appear smooth and natural.

The bright 2.5-inch LCD boasts 230,000 pixels of resolution. Coated with Wide View film, the screen offers an expanded viewing angle that facilitates creative composition and comes in handy for viewing and sharing your pictures. Anti-glare coating on the surface also makes it easier to see the LCD screen in bright light or outdoor shooting and viewing situations.

Mode Dial

Auto

This is the easiest mode for taking pictures. Use this mode for ordinary photography.

Picture Stabilization

Used for selecting a fast shutter speed that reduces camera shake and moving-subject blurring.

Natural Light

This mode produces beautiful images that retain the natural ambience when shots are taken in low-light conditions.

Dual Shot Mode

This mode shoots 2 images continuously without flash and with flash. Shooting with flash allows you to take a picture of a main subject brightly. This mode is useful for shooting 2 different types of pictures at the same time.

SP1/SP2 Scene Position

Use to select the ideal setting from Scene position menu for the shot.

Program Auto

This is an automatic mode to specify the settings except for the shutter speed and aperture setting.

Aperture Priority Auto

You set the aperture and the camera automatically controls the shutter speed.

Shutter Priority Auto

You choose the shutter speed while the camera automatically selects the aperture that will produce the optimum exposure.

Manual

This mode provides more detailed settings that are impossible to set in Auto mode.

Movie

Use this mode to record movies with sound.

Scene Position

Portrait

Use this mode for photography to get beautiful skin tones and soft overall tone.

Landscape

Use this mode for shooting scenery in daylight and provides crisp, clear shots of scenery such as buildings and mountains.

Sport

Use this mode to take pictures of a moving subject. It gives priority to faster shutter speeds.

Night

Use this mode for shooting evening and night scenes. A picture is taken with a slow shutter of up to 4 seconds.

Fireworks

Use this mode to shoot fireworks. It is effective for taking more vivid shots of fireworks with a slow shutter.

Sunset

Use this mode to shoot sunset, making the colors more vivid.

Snow

Use this mode to prevent darkening images and provide crisp, clear shots, when shooting at snowy scene where the whole screen appears white.

Beach

Use this mode to prevent darkening images and provide crisp, clear shots, when shooting at beach under strong sunlight.

Museum

Use this mode for taking pictures in places such as museum where the use of flash and making an operation sound and a shutter sound are restricted.

Flash mode is forcibly set to Suppressed flash, and operation sound, shutter sound, and the AF-assist illuminator/self-timer lamp are off.

Party

Use this mode for shooting at indoor wedding and party.

This mode produces beautiful images that retain the natural ambience when shots are taken in low-light conditions.

Flower

Use this mode to take clear close-up shots when zooming up a flower. It is effective for taking more vivid shots of flower petal.

Text

Use this mode to shoot documents and white board. It is effective for taking clearer shots of letters.

Auction

Auction Mode stitches multiple photos into a single image for easy uploading to your favorite auction site.

Super Macro Mode

Super Macro mode lets you move in as close as approx. 1cm (0.4 inch) making it easy to take high-impact full-frame close-ups.

High-Speed Continuous Shooting

The FinePix S8000fd offers a high-speed continuous shooting mode that captures up to 15 frames per second in a burst, even if the subject is moving.

Micro Thumbnail View

The 2.5-inch LCD can display up to 100 pictures simultaneously. You can use this micro-thumbnail view to select specific photos you want to view or print, eliminating the need to cycle through the entire content of your memory card.

xD/SD Compatible Slot

The memory card slot is compatible with both xD Picture Card™ and SD/SDHC memory cards, providing added flexibility for recording and transfer of photos images and playback on an expanded array of devices.
