Before you buy a Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro Camera, make sure you know where it came from

Apparently some U.S.A. dealers have been offering FinePix S5 Pro cameras originating from outside the U.S.A

Here's why you do not want to be one of them:

The U.S.A. product's often features value-added accessories which are not included with gray-market cameras.
Fujifilm cameras originating from sources outside of FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc. are not warranted by FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc. and therefore are not eligible for warranty service from FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc.
Gray-market cameras may not meet FCC standards
Products imported gray into the United States by dealers are not eligible for rebates, free goods, or any other promotions provided by Fujifilm U.S.A., Inc.

The following distinctive packaging can easily identify all Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro camera's imported and marketed by Fujifilm U.S.A., Inc.

The origin of these cameras can easily be traced and identified as U.S.A. product. The UPC code on the box will read 0 74101 40300 8, 0 74101 40330 5, or 0 74101 40331 2 on the outer carton and the inner carton will read 0 74101 43000 4. U.S.A. product is further identified as F FX-S5P-US on the internal carton. Cameras originating elsewhere will have a different code.

The outer carton will have either a green or a red label on the top and front of the box indicating "S5 Pro USA Camera...". Green labeled product is available to anyone, while red labeled product is available exclusively to government and systems integrators only.

Unless otherwise listed on one of the above special labels, the Fujifilm advanced HyperUtility RAW conversion and tethered shooting software is not included with the camera. HyperUtility HS-3V can be purchased separately. Fujifilm FinePix viewer is included with every USA warranted camera and supports basic RAW conversion for the FinePix S5 Pro. Fujifilm RAW is also supported by Microsoft Vista and Adobe Camera RAW v3.7.

Many web sites will state that the camera includes warranty. Please double check that it is an original Fujifilm U.S.A., Inc. warranty and not a third party warranty. Fujifilm U.S.A. Inc. only supports the factory original Fujifilm U.S.A., Inc. warranty that comes in the product box.
