FUJIFILM TO INCREASE PRICES FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC FILMS AND ONE-TIME-USE CAMERAS

Valhalla, N.Y., January 22, 2016 FUJIFILM North America Corporation will implement price increases for photographic films in the U.S., effective April 1, 2016. Prices for consumer and professional photographic films, including black and white, color negative, color reversal films, as well as One-Time-Use cameras (OTUC), will increase by approximately 10%.

The price increases are a result of the continuing decline in demand for film products, the high costs of production, and the increased expenses associated with specialized raw materials at reduced volumes. Under such circumstances, and despite efforts to maintain production costs, Fujifilm is unable to absorb these costs entirely, and must implement price increases at this time.

Over the last fifteen years, film usage has fallen to approximately one percent of its peak. However, Fujifilm remains committed to the passionate photographers that still enjoy using film and will continue to manufacture as many film products as possible to support the market.
