NEW ADDITION TO THE FUJINON MACHINE VISION LENS LINEUP SUPPORTING THREE MEGAPIXELS AND 2/3” FORMAT

FUJINON HF-XA series from Fujifilm maintains high resolution across the entire image even with change of aperture and working distance.

Valhalla, N.Y., December 9, 2015 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation has announced the release of five ‘FUJINON HF-XA Series’ high performance lenses as a new addition in the lineup for Machine Vision applications. These new lenses support 3 Megapixels for 2/3” sensor format and deliver edge-to-edge even sharpness.

In the field of industrial manufacturing, Machine Vision systems are used to perform tasks such as positioning, classification, measurement and inspection automatically. The demand for Machine Vision systems is anticipated to make further growth with responding to the request for automation and streamlining work in the production lines. To support current market demands for more product efficiency and stricter quality management, Machine Vision systems also need to realize higher image recognition accuracy and processing speed. Therefore, camera manufacturers offer Machine Vision cameras with large sensors, high resolutions and high frame rates. The optical lenses for these cameras are also required to meet to high resolution to secure the recognition accuracy of the systems.

The FUJINON HF-XA series consists of five high performance fixed focal length lenses with focal lengths between 8mm and 35mm. The new lenses maintain their high resolving power of
3 megapixels from the image center to all corners even when the aperture is wide open under low light conditions as well as over changing working distances. This enables a flexible usage of the lenses in versatile applications with consistent image quality. The new series comes with a small diameter measuring only 29.5mm. The small size supports the development of compact Machine Vision systems because the lens diameter is smaller than the size of many Machine Vision cameras. Furthermore, each lens has three holes for locking screws that allow for the iris and the focus ring to be adjusted from more flexible angles.
