VALHALLA, N.Y., October 9, 2012 – In recognition of its innovative and versatile technology, FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division was presented with a 2012 InterTech™ Technology Award from Printing Industries of America for its revolutionary FUJIFILM J Press 720, the first half-size, sheetfed inkjet press capable of producing offset quality.  Fujifilm received the award at the 2012 Premiere Print Awards and InterTech™ Technology Awards Gala on Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Chicago during Graph Expo 2012.

Designed for the traditional sheetfed commercial printer to aggressively compete in the short-run printing market, the J Press 720 establishes a new category within the industry and fundamentally shifts the way printers can do business. The culmination of Fujifilm’s R&D efforts, the J Press 720 includes SAMBA™ print heads from FUJIFILM Dimatix, Fujifilm’s Rapid Coagulation Primer (RCP), and Fujifilm’s Vividia inkjet ink – all the necessary technology provided by one source.
This is the fifth InterTech Technology Award for Fujifilm, and the award follows the first North American installations of the J Press 720 at Gilson Graphics in Michigan and Digital Edge in Canada.
