Faster Speeds, Wider Color Gamut, and Premium Paper Handling Offer Retail, Commercial and Professional Photofinishers Enhanced Capabilities for Growing Their Businesses

Valhalla, N.Y., January 9, 2012 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Imaging Division, announced today the newest addition to Fujifilm’s Expanding Frontier Solutions line, the Frontier Dry Minilab DL650. The Frontier DL650 offers outstanding features in an inkjet minilab; its 6-color ink system is able to produce vivid images with enhanced grain and gradation, print sizes from 3.5” x 5” up to 12” x 48” at speeds up to 950 - 4” x 6” prints per hour, and at resolutions up to 1440 dpi.

“The Frontier DL650 represents Fujifilm’s latest innovation in inkjet minilabs,” said Jim Riekert, director of marketing, Equipment, FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Imaging Division. “The Frontier DL650’s enhanced capabilities enable high speed printing of high quality, consistent images on Fujifilm standard or new premium weight Dry Photo papers. The Frontier DL650 is ideally suited to meet the diverse needs and challenges of retail, commercial, and professional markets.”

Production flexibility of the DL650 is greatly improved with the addition of variable paper thickness printing. The DL650 is able to print on Fujifilm’s new Thicker Dry Photo paper and Standard weight Dry Photo paper, expanding the products a Photofinisher can offer.

Standard 6-color inks--C, M, Y, K, plus Sky Blue and Pink--produce high quality images and allow for a wider color gamut, finer grain, smoother gradation in backgrounds and improved skin tones. The new DL650 provides enhanced paper printing capability for two new types of premium paper, available in Glossy and Lustre finishes, suitable for a variety of uses such as weddings, portraits and special event photography.
Fujifilm’s Frontier Workflow Management Software (“MS”) with integrated Image Intelligence™ Technology powers the Frontier DL650. Fujifilm’s MS software efficiently manages order fulfillment and can drive multiple output devices in Fujifilm’s Expanding Frontier Solutions line. For over 75 years, Fujifilm has been at the forefront of developing and improving image quality through Fujifilm’s proprietary Image Intelligence Technology, which optimizes images to ensure the consistent high quality prints that customers expect from Fujifilm’s Frontier solutions.

Key features and capabilities of the Frontier DL650 include:
• 6 colors – C, M, Y, K, Sky Blue, Pink
• 950 - 4” x 6” prints per hour, 350 - 8” x 10” prints per hour (normal mode)
