FUJIFILM DIGITAL INKJET J PRESS 720 IS A MUST SEE 'EM AT GRAPH EXPO 2010

Valhalla, N.Y., October 03, 2010 – The Graphic Systems Division of FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced that the FUJIFILM Digital Inkjet J Press 720 was selected as a Must See ‘em in the Digital Presses – Production Color – Sheetfed category at Graph Expo 2010 in Chicago, Ill. This is the first time that the press is operating live in North America and was expected to draw crowds at the show due to its winning combination of offset print quality and digital functionality.

“Fujifilm is pleased to have been selected as a Must See ‘em at Graph Expo 2010 and we are very grateful for the recognition,” said Sam Ota, division president, Graphic Systems Division, FUJIIFLM North America Corporation. “We hope all attendees of the show will visit our booth to learn more about the future of digital printing and how Fujifilm’s latest innovation will provide growth opportunities - now and for the long term.”

Printing up to 2,700 four-up sheet sizes per hour, or 10,800 8.5”x11” pages per hour, the J Press 720 prints on regular coated offset stocks which allows for printing offset-sized sheets with a maximum sheet size of 29.5”x20.8”. This means the press will create new opportunities for digital print with applications such as gate-fold brochures, folders and more unusual page sizes, all down to run lengths as low as one. Print quality is 1,200 dpi and offers four level grayscale capability, which is achieved using FUJIIFLM Dimatix’s SAMBA™ single pass piezo drop-on-demand inkjet head technology. The J Press 720 also has an incorporated infrared drying system, which means no drying time is necessary after printing so sheets are ready for finishing.

Fujifilm will host live demonstrations of the J Press 720 five times each day throughout the duration of Graph Expo 2010 at booth #627. Attendees of the demonstrations can enter to win a FUJIFILM FinePix Z70 Digital Camera.
